Absence of Mind

One winter evening, Sir Isaac Newton felt very cold and moved his chair close to the fireplace, where a fire was burning. Soon the heat became very strong, and Newton rang the bell for his servant. The servant came at once.

"Take away the fireplace grate!" cried Newton in an angry voice, which was not usual for him. "Take it away before I am burned!"

"Please, sir, maybe you could move your chair back?" said the servant with a little smile.

"Oh!" said Newton, and he began to laugh. "I didn’t think of that!"
