July is the Month of Berries

JULY is the month of berries, of greatest summer heat, of thunderstorms.

The ponds in July are covered with water lilies. Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are now ripe.

Bears, who spend spring and early summer near lakes and rivers, go now to higher ground and look for berries.

By the end of July there is less singing of birds.

Mother birds choose a clear sunny day to make their young ones leave the nest.
