A Letter about Sports in England

Dear Giulia,
I greatly enjoyed your letter. In your letter you told me about sports in your town. I shall try to tell you now. I will tell you about the games we play in England.
First of all, I must tell you something. Football is played in England in winter. It is not played in summer. Football is the most popular game in England. England is the home of football. Schools have football teams. Towns have football teams. Of course the English team is well known in the world. Many people know it.
We do not play ice hockey much in England. The winter is not very cold. But we play hockey on grass. There are men’s teams. There are women’s teams. Many schools have teams too. They play hockey.
Other games which we play in England are tennis. We play basketball. We play volleyball. We like these games.
We have gymnastics every week. We have it in our school gymnasium. We run and jump. We play basketball. We play volleyball. We play other games. In summer we have gymnastics in the playground. It is outside.
Well, I shall end my letter for today. This is all.
I wish you all the best. I hope to receive another letter from you soon.
Your English friend,
Mary Smith
