Dear Mary,

I was very glad to receive your letter. I got your letter of October 6th. Thank you for it. Thank you also for telling me about your family. Thank you for telling me about your holidays.

I went to the seaside for my holidays too. I was in Amalfi. Amalfi is by the Tyrrhenian Sea. I was there for three weeks. The weather was fine. Sometimes it was hot. The water was warm. I went for a swim every day. I swam in the sea.

After my holidays at the seaside, I visited my uncle. I visited him in the country. He lives in a small village. He works on a farm. My uncle’s house is near a small river. There is a forest not far from it. The forest is close. There are many flowers in the forest. I often went to pick flowers. I went with other village girls. We picked flowers together.

After my holidays I was glad. I was glad to begin school again. I am now in the 7th form. I have new teachers. I have new subjects to learn. I like my teachers very much. I like my school-friends very much.
