He Turned the Horse Round

A boy was late for school. The teacher asked him, “Why are you late?”

The boy answered, “I could not come here in time. You see, there is ice in the street. So my horse made one step forward and two steps backward.”

“How did you come here then?” asked the teacher.

“Well, I turned the horse round and tried to go home. So I came to school.”
