American Higher Education

Higher education is given in colleges, technical institutes, and universities. After finishing school, students can choose what subject they want to study. They usually study for three or four years. Students must pay for their education, but some universities give scholarships to good students. Teachers at universities help students learn many new things and prepare for their future jobs. Students also meet new people, make friends, and take part in different activities. Studying at a university helps young people become more independent, learn to solve problems, and understand the world better.
