January

January is the coldest month of the year. The days are short and the nights are long. The air is very cold, and you can see your breath when you go outside. There is often much snow on the ground, and the snow is soft and white. Children like to play in the snow. They throw snowballs at each other and make big snowmen. They can also make snow houses or snow animals.

It is very nice in the forest in January. The trees and bushes are covered with snow. The branches look white and shiny. The forest is quiet and beautiful. You can hear the snow crunching under your feet when you walk. Sometimes you can see birds in the trees looking for food.

Skiing in the forest in winter is one of the most pleasant sports. You can ski along the snowy paths and enjoy the fresh air. When you are tired, you can make a small fire and have tea or cocoa. It is nice to sit by the fire, rest, and enjoy the winter forest. Winter in January is cold, but it can be very beautiful and fun.
