Aesop’s Fables

Aesop lived in Greece many hundreds of years ago. He was a very old man, and he liked to travel from one town to another. Everywhere he went, he told people interesting stories. There were no books at that time, so people loved to listen to his stories. They listened very carefully and learned many lessons from them.
After hearing the stories, the fathers and mothers told them to their children. Children also loved the stories because they were funny, exciting, and easy to understand. The stories often had animals as the main characters, like foxes, lions, and turtles. Each story usually had a lesson or a moral, which helped people know what was right and what was wrong.
Aesop's stories became very popular, and they were passed from one generation to another. Even today, many people read or listen to Aesop's fables, and they still enjoy the lessons and the clever animals in the stories.
