The Theater in London

The English have loved the theater since the time of Shakespeare. London has more than thirty theaters and is the main place for plays. People in London often go to the theater on their birthday or a special day. Visitors from other parts of the country also like to see one or two theaters when they come to London.

In the early evening, if you go to the West End of London, you can see many people sitting or standing near the theaters. They are waiting to buy tickets for an opera or a ballet.
