Talking About a Difficult Work Situation

Anna: Hi Tom. You look tired. Is everything okay at work?
Tom: Hi, Anna. Not really. I have a big problem with my new project.
Anna: Oh no! What's wrong?
Tom: The deadline is very short, and I don't have enough help. I'm very stressed.
Anna: That's not easy. Did you talk to your manager about it?
Tom: Not yet. I'm afraid they will think I can't do my job.
Anna: I understand, but it's good to ask for help. Maybe they can give you more time or more people to help.
Tom: You're right. I'll talk to them tomorrow. What do you do when you have a problem at work?
Anna: I make a list of all my tasks. Then I do the most important things first.
Tom: That's a good idea. I'll try that. Thanks, Anna.
Anna: You're welcome, Tom. And don't forget to take breaks. Too much work is not good for you.
Tom: I know, but I don't have time for breaks.
Anna: A short break helps you think better. Try it.
Tom: Okay, I will. Thanks for the advice, Anna.
Anna: No problem, Tom. Good luck with your project.
Tom: Thanks. See you later.
Anna: See you, Tom.
