A Conversation About British and American Culture

Anna: Hi, Tom! How are you?
Tom: Hi, Anna. I'm good. Thanks. How about you?
Anna: I'm fine, too. Do you want to visit the UK or the USA?
Tom: Yes, I want to visit both. Do you know anything about British and American culture?
Anna: Yes, I know some things. For example, in the UK, people drive on the left side of the road, but in the USA, they drive on the right. What about you?
Tom: I know that in the UK, people drink a lot of tea, but in the USA, they drink more coffee. Do you think the food is different?
Anna: Yes, I think so. In the UK, people eat fish and chips, but in the USA, they eat hamburgers and hot dogs. What about holidays?
Tom: In the USA, they have a special holiday called Thanksgiving. People eat together with family and say thank you for good things in their life. In the UK, they don't have this holiday.
Anna: That's interesting. Do you think the language is different?
Tom: Yes, some words are different. For example, in the UK, they say "biscuit", but in the USA, they say "cookie." What about you?
Anna: I know that in the UK, they say "big truck" differently. In the UK, it is a "lorry" and in the USA, it is a "truck." Do you think British and American people are very different?
Tom: I think they are different in some things, but also the same in many things.
Anna: I agree. It's interesting to learn about different cultures. Thanks for the conversation, Tom. See you later.
Tom: See you, Anna.
