Is Jack Ill?

It’s Monday. It’s seven o’clock in the morning. But Jack does not want to get up. He is in bed. His mother comes in.

Mother: Jack, it is seven o’clock! And you are in bed? Get up! Get up!

Jack: I can’t go to school today, Mum. I am ill.

Mother: Are you?

Jack: I’m sorry I am, Mum. Please, give me my new book. I want to read it now.

Mother: Here it is.

Jack: Thank you, Mum, and my new toys, please.

Mother: Here they are.

Jack: Oh, thanks. And for dinner, I want ice-cream.

Mother: Oh, Jack, now I see that you are not ill. You don’t want to go to school!
