Is it harmful to drink rainwater? Actually, all the water we drink comes from rain. The difference between rainwater collected directly and rainwater from springs or wells is mainly in the amount of mineral salts. Rainwater collected directly contains almost no minerals, while rainwater that has been in contact with soil contains minerals. Therefore, it is not harmful to drink rainwater, although water with minerals tastes better.
