Mother’s Day in Great Britain

In Great Britain there is a special holiday called Mother’s Day. Many people love this day very much. It is a time to say “thank you” to mothers for their love and care.
Mother’s Day is usually on a Sunday in the middle of March. On this day sons and daughters visit their mothers and bring them flowers, cards, or small presents. Some people make breakfast or dinner for their mothers. They want their mothers to have a rest and enjoy the day.
If children cannot visit their mothers, they send them presents or call them on the phone. It is a very happy day for all families.
In the United States and Canada, people also celebrate Mother’s Day. It is on the second Sunday in May.
