A Conversation About a Historical Event

Anna: Hi, Tom. How are you?
Tom: Hi, Anna. I'm good. Thanks. How about you?
Anna: I'm fine, too. Do you like history?
Tom: Yes, I like history. My favorite event in history is the moon landing in 1969. What about you?
Anna: I like the moon landing, too, but my favorite event is the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Do you know about it?
Tom: Yes, I know it was a big event in Germany. Before 1989 a big wall divided the city of Berlin into two parts. When the wall came down people from both parts could meet again.
Anna: Yes, that's right. It was very important because families and friends could be together again. Do you think big events in history can change the world?
Tom: Yes, I think so. The moon landing showed that people can do very difficult things. What about you?
Anna: I agree. Big events in history show us what people can do. Do you like to visit historical places?
Tom: Yes, I like to visit museums and old buildings. What about you?
Anna: I like to visit historical places, too. It helps me learn about the past. Do you think history is important?
Tom: Yes, I think history is very important. We can learn from the past and do better things in the future. What do you think?
Anna: I agree. History teaches us a lot. Thanks for the conversation, Tom. See you later.
Tom: See you, Anna.
