A Conversation About a Difficult Colleague

Lisa: Hi John, how are you?
John: Hi Lisa. I'm okay, but I have a problem at work.
Lisa: Oh, what's wrong?
John: I have a coworker who is very difficult. He doesn't listen to my ideas and always says bad things about my work.
Lisa: That's not nice. Did you talk to him about it?
John: No, I don't know what to say. I don't want more problems.
Lisa: I understand. Maybe you can talk to your boss about it. Your boss can help you.
John: That's a good idea. I'll think about it. How about you? Do you have any difficult co-workers?
Lisa: Not really. Most of my co-workers are nice, but sometimes we don't agree. It's normal, I think.
John: Yes, but it's hard when someone is always unkind. I just want to do my job well.
Lisa: I know. Maybe you can think about good things and do your work well. Don't worry too much about him.
John: Thanks Lisa. I'll try. It's just hard sometimes.
Lisa: I understand. You can always talk to me.
John: Thanks Lisa. You're a good friend.
Lisa: You're welcome John. See you later.
John: See you Lisa.
