This is Brother Rabbit. He is very small, but he wants to be big. He wants to be very, very clever, too.

One day, Brother Rabbit comes to his aunt, Mammy-Bammy.

"Hello," he says. "How are you?"

"I'm fine, thank you," says Aunt Mammy-Bammy. "And you?"

"I'm very well, too," says Brother Rabbit. "I want to be big and clever. Can you help me?"

"Yes, I can," says Aunt Mammy-Bammy.

Then, Aunt Mammy-Bammy says, "Do you see that bird in the tree?" "Get it for me."

Brother Rabbit takes a box with many seeds in it. Then, he goes to the tree where the bird lives.

Brother Rabbit is sitting under the tree with a box in his hands. The bird is looking at Brother Rabbit.

"What are you doing?" says the bird.

"I'm eating some nice seeds," says Brother Rabbit.

"I want to eat the seeds, too," says the bird.

"Come into the box," says Brother Rabbit.

The bird jumps into the box.

Brother Rabbit closes the box with the bird in it and runs to Aunt Mammy-Bammy.

"Hello, Aunt Mammy-Bammy," says Brother Rabbit. "I have the bird for you. Here it is."

"Thank you," says Aunt Mammy-Bammy. "You are clever, but not very clever. Now, get the snake's tooth for me."

Brother Rabbit goes to the forest. In the forest, he sees a snake. He knows that snakes like birds. Brother Rabbit makes a bird out of gum.

The snake sees the bird. She wants to eat it. She opens her mouth and takes the bird into it. Now, she can't close her mouth.

Brother Rabbit gets the snake's tooth out of her mouth. "Now, I have it!" he says.

Then, Brother Rabbit comes to Aunt Mammy-Bammy and gives her the snake's tooth.

"Hello, Aunt Mammy-Bammy," says Brother Rabbit. "I have the tooth for you. Here it is! I can get birds! I can get snakes' teeth! I can get big snakes! I can... I can do everything!

Look at me! Now, I am big! I am very, very big! Now, I am clever! I am very, very clever!"

"Are you?" says Aunt Mammy-Bammy. "Now, I want to teach you a lesson."

Aunt Mammy-Bammy takes Brother Rabbit by the ears, shakes him and says, "Don't boast, Brother Rabbit!" "Don't boast!"

She is shaking and shaking him, and Brother Rabbit's ears are getting longer and longer and longer.

Now, all rabbits have long ears.
