Gulio Guidi, a 22-year-old Italian student, was famous for his extraordinary memory. In 1561, he gave an amazing demonstration to show how well he could remember information. He listened carefully to a reading of 36,000 disconnected words. These words were not in sentences or stories—they were just single words, one after another. After listening, Guidi was able to repeat all 36,000 words from memory. This was an incredible achievement, and people were very impressed.

One of the witnesses was Mark-Antoine Muret (1526–1585), a French professor and scholar. He attended the demonstration and said that Guidi's memory was extraordinary. Muret wrote that it was a wonderful success and that Guidi had shown the power of human memory.

This demonstration made Guidi famous across Europe. People were amazed that a young student could remember so many words without writing anything down. Today, he is still remembered as one of the most impressive feats of the human mind in history.

Gulio Guidi's story shows that, with training and focus, people can develop very strong memory skills. Even now, memory experts study similar techniques to understand how the brain can store and recall large amounts of information.
