Ray Bradbury, a very famous American writer, was born on August 22, 1920, in Waukegan, Illinois. He loved reading and writing from a young age. After finishing high school, he moved to Los Angeles and joined a small theater group. After one year, he left the group and became a newsboy. Selling newspapers helped him earn money so he could buy books and continue writing.

Bradbury started his literary career by writing short stories. In 1943, he became a full-time writer. He wrote many books, and his stories have been translated into more than twelve languages. His most famous books include Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, and Dandelion Wine. Many of his stories are about space, the future, and strange adventures, but they also show human feelings, hopes, and fears.

Even though Bradbury wrote many exciting stories about the future, he never learned to drive a car and never flew in an airplane. He lived a simple life. His hobbies included painting with oil and watercolors. He also collected masks used in Mexican tribal dances. These hobbies helped him relax and find new ideas for his stories.

Ray Bradbury became a very popular writer during his life. People all over the world read his books and enjoyed his stories. He inspired many young writers to imagine new worlds and write about them. Bradbury died in 2012, but his books are still read and loved by children and adults today.
