It is the hottest month of the year. The sun is shining brightly, and the days are very long. The sky is blue and there are no clouds. The weather is warm and nice. Boys and girls take their bathing-suits and go to the river. They swim, play, and laugh. Some people sit on the grass and watch the water. Others lie in the sun and rest.
Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries have now begun to ripen. The berries are red, blue and sweet. Children like to go to the forest to pick them. They carry small baskets and fill them with berries. The air in the forest is fresh, and the trees are green. Sometimes the children eat the berries right there and their hands become red. After that, they go home, wash their hands, and tell their parents about the day. It is a happy and beautiful time of the year.
