
It is very warm now, and the days are long and sunny. Summer is starting. The trees are green, and many flowers are blooming. People like to go for walks and play outside.
The farmers work in the fields every day. They cut the grass and leave it in the sun to dry. When the grass is dry, they make big piles called hayricks. The air smells good, and it is nice to rest near a hayrick on a warm night.
When you walk in the country, you can see big fields of wheat. The wheat is not green now — it is turning yellow and golden. Birds are flying over the fields, and the sky is blue and clear.
On June 22 we have the longest day and the shortest night of the year. People are happy in summer because there is a lot of sunshine and time to play and enjoy nature.
