In Town

Yesterday the Smiths went for a walk in the town. They walked along the new streets to the square in the center of the town.

On one side of this square they saw a tall modern building. Here they stopped at a street crossing because the lights were red. When the lights changed to green, the Smiths crossed the square.

On the other side of the square, the Smiths saw the theatre, a beautiful grey building. There was a post office and a large hotel near the theatre.

The Smiths walked on. Soon they came to a street with trees and flowers in the middle. In this street, the Smiths stopped at many shops to look at the shop windows. On one side of this street was a large cinema and a new café. On the other side, they saw the town library. At the end of the street was the town hospital.

After the hospital, they turned to the right to go to the town park. They wanted to cross the street, but there were too many cars, trams, and buses. When there were no cars, trams, or buses, they crossed the street and went into the park. In the park, the father and mother sat down on a bench under a big green tree. The children went for a walk in the park.

When the children came back, Mother said, “It’s time to go home for tea.”

“Let’s take a bus home,” said Father. So they took a Number Two bus and got home in a very short time.
