My Little Sister Emma

star 4.1

I have a sister. Her name is Emma. She is little. She is five. She is a very funny girl. She likes to talk very much. She even talks to people in the street. And people like to talk to her because she is very funny.

But today Emma doesn't want to talk, she doesn’t want even to play today — she is ill. She is in bed. Mother gives Emma her toys: her new doll and her toy animals — a brown monkey, a yellow giraffe with a long-long neck, a pink little pig, a white bear and a red fox. But Emma doesn't want to play with her toys — she is ill.

I want to read books for her, but she doesn't want to listen — she is ill.

Mother gives Emma a cup of milk, but she doesn't want to drink it.

In the evening, Father comes home. He sees Emma in bed and asks, "Emma, why are you in bed?"

"I am ill," says my little sister. "I don't want to eat, I don't want to drink milk, I don’t want to play with my toys and I don't want to talk."

"You don’t want even to talk. Then you are ill," says my father. "The doctor can help you."

"I don’t want a doctor. I don't like doctors!" says my little sister.

Father says, "The doctor is a very good and kind man. He likes little children. He has a little black bag. And he has very many interesting things in his bag."

"What things?" asks my sister. "I want to see them." "All right," says Father.

Now Emma wants to see the doctor very much. When the doctor comes, Emma says, "Hello, doctor! I am very glad to see you! Where is your little black bag with interesting things in it? Give it to me, please."

"Here it is. You may look at all the interesting things in the bag, but you open your mouth, please!"

Emma opens her mouth. The doctor says, “Good girl!" Then he says, "Now I know why you are ill — you like to eat too much ice cream. Please, drink hot milk and hot tea and you will be well. Goodbye."

"Thank you. Goodbye, doctor!" says Emma.

Emma is still'' in bed. She is still ill. But she eats what Mother gives her — she eats soup, bread, porridge, potato, meat, eggs, fruit. She drinks hot milk and hot tea.

And Emma is well now. She plays with her toys, she looks at the pictures in the books, she plays with her friends. I read books for her, and she talks very much. She talks to Mother and Father, she talks to me, she talks to her friends. And she even talks to people in the street.

Because she is well now.

And because she likes to talk very much.

Yes, my little sister Emma is a very funny girl.
